In 2008, in the midst of marital troubles, The Millionaire Maker faced a mountain of legal headaches as 21 separate lawsuits made their way through court. The Internet was rife with critics who attacked her integrity on sites like Rip-Off Report, all while her business avalanched after losing access to her database.
As the depression mounted, no one would have blamed Loral for walking away from it all. But fate—and friendship—intervened.
“So all this was going on, and one of my greatest mentors said, ‘Loral, you got to get yourself protection,’ and I didn’t really realize what he meant,” she said. “He said, ‘energetic protection,’ so I just kind of pondered that for awhile, and then one morning during a run, I got it.”
Langemeier met with her assistant and two members of her accounting department and laid down her new strategy.
“I said, ‘Here’s the deal. My job is to go make this company money and change lives. Your job is to protect me energetically from all this attack,’” she said. “I didn’t answer any emails. I didn’t answer any lawyers. I didn’t answer anything. I stopped looking at the Internet.”
“I just met with the part of the company that was all about having fun, making money, doing what we’re doing, changing lives, and you know, getting the results.”
When you are under attack, Langemeier said the key is to stay in the game, keep your head straight, and do everything you can to “energetically” keep the negativity at bay.
In the end, Loral won every single one of the court cases, she got her database rebuilt, she learned to deny the critics any of her joy, and her team of defenders got nice bonuses, too.
